Project Background

As a premier tourism route, the “Chuanjiu Road” is a post-disaster reconstruction highway receiving high priority from the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and serves as a model road developed by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transport. Following the completion of the Chuanjiu Road’s construction, this project will enhance and support its overall operations through intelligent control and management, smart information services, and other measures, with the aim of making travel more convenient, operational management more efficient, and decision-making more data‑driven, thereby advancing the digitalization of transportation services, infrastructure, and decision‑making and monitoring systems along the Chuanjiu Road.

Solution

• Establish a multi-dimensional, integrated road‑condition perception system. By seamlessly integrating and mutually reinforcing video surveillance, data collection on high‑risk slopes and bridge conditions, tunnel monitoring, traffic‑volume detection, meteorological monitoring, and data‑exchange and collaboration mechanisms, this system lays a robust perceptual foundation for the project.

• Develop an omnichannel smart service system. Leveraging a diverse array of data—including traffic flow information on Chuanjiu Road, meteorological warnings and forecasts, road‑icing alerts, incident and response updates, visitor‑flow data for scenic areas such as Jiuzhaigou, and driving‑direction guidance—this system addresses the time‑sensitive nature and regionally specific characteristics of incident‑related information, thereby delivering a comprehensive, integrated smart service platform that enhances travel safety and fosters seamless integration between transportation and tourism.

• Develop an efficient, shared, and collaborative smart highway integrated management platform. By leveraging data analytics and mining, the platform will integrate multi-source data, conduct future operational‑state analysis and anomaly alerts, assess road capacity, and perform statistical analysis of traffic accidents, thereby providing decision‑making support for the comprehensive management of Sichuan–Jiu Road and enabling integrated management of operations, maintenance, and real-time monitoring.
