Uphold the great spirit and inspire enthusiasm for striving.

Great practice gives rise to a great spirit, and that great spirit, in turn, propels great undertakings. Not long ago, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized at the symposium on advancing the all-round revitalization of Northeast China in the new era that we must vigorously carry forward the spirit of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, the Daqing Spirit (the Iron Man Spirit), and the Beidahuang Spirit, guiding Party members and cadres to cultivate a correct view of political achievements and to ignite their enthusiasm for work and entrepreneurship. He also stressed the need to firmly grasp the Northeast’s vital mission in safeguarding the nation’s “five major securities.” In this new era and on this new journey, to ensure national security, we must inherit the red gene and carry forward the red lineage, drawing from the spirit of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, the Daqing Spirit (the Iron Man Spirit), and the Beidahuang Spirit the inspiring strength to forge ahead in our endeavors.

"The spirit becomes a whetstone, sought here through the ages." Practice has shown that the Chinese people's enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity have been further unleashed; their resolve, backbone, and confidence have reached unprecedented heights; and the Party, the armed forces, and the people are all uplifted and vigorous, none of which can be separated from the empowering force of self-confidence and self-reliance. The Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army Spirit, the Daqing Spirit (the "Iron Man" Spirit), and the Beidahuang (Great Northern Wilderness) Spirit are important components of the Communist Party of China's spiritual lineage, containing the "spiritual code" behind the Party's repeated feats of extraordinary achievement. The heroic courage, indomitable fighting spirit, and ethos of self-improvement they embody are a powerful manifestation of the Chinese national spirit. As we advance, we must consciously draw on these great spirits to temper our character and to ignite our passion for striving and enterprise.
