Product Description
PET release film is a commonly used material in thermal transfer applications. Its base substrate is PET, which is coated with silicone oil, hence the name “silicone‑oil film.” Standard thicknesses range from 25 µm to 150 µm. It is available in both cold‑peel and hot‑peel versions, with either a glossy or matte finish, and can be treated for antistatic and scratch‑resistant properties. The product exhibits excellent adhesion and conformability.
PET release film, also known as PET silicone‑oil coated film, is produced by applying a layer of silicone oil to the surface of a PET film, thereby reducing its surface adhesion and achieving a release effect. It can be categorized into single‑sided and double‑sided release films. Based on release force, it is further classified into light‑release, medium‑release, and heavy‑release films. Common thicknesses include 0.012 mm, 0.019 mm, 0.025 mm, 0.038 mm, 0.05 mm, 0.075 mm, 0.1 mm, 0.125 mm, and 0.188 mm. Manufacturers of PET release film are typically equipped with large slitting and cutting machines, enabling customized winding and slicing according to customer specifications. Today, PET release film is widely used in industries such as packaging, printing, screen printing, pad printing, nameplates, membrane switches, flexible circuits, insulating products, printed circuit boards, laser anti‑counterfeiting, lamination, electronics, sealing‑material films, reflective materials, waterproofing materials, pharmaceuticals (e.g., adhesive plasters), hygiene papers, adhesive products, and die‑cutting and stamping processes.
