Heat-seal film It is used in many applications. For example, it finds use in the medical field. Heat-seal films and eco-friendly plastic bags are both plastic products, and heat-seal films also share the transparency of eco-friendly plastic bags. Both have a wide range of uses. Now, let’s take a closer look at the heat-seal film manufacturing process and its key characteristics.

Heat-sealing film process:
Heat-seal film Production technologies include extrusion blow molding, extrusion casting, solvent casting, and calendering, among others. Among these, extrusion casting yields films with well‑balanced longitudinal and transverse properties and virtually no internal stresses, while also offering excellent heat‑sealability; however, the capital investment required for extrusion‑casting equipment is substantial, which limits its practical application. The most widely used is the heat‑sealable film produced by extrusion blow molding. It should be noted that during extrusion blow molding, both the stretch ratio and the draw ratio are kept very low, with the two carefully balanced; if either ratio is too high, excessive plastic molecular orientation under tensile stress can lead to crystallization, resulting in a polypropylene heat‑sealable film with superior heat resistance. To ensure that PP films exhibit good heat sealability and transparency, water‑cooled down‑draw blow molding is recommended. Solvent casting requires large quantities of solvent, entails high costs, and necessitates sizable solvent‑recovery systems, involving substantial capital outlay and significant consumption; it is typically employed only for producing very small‑volume, ultra‑thin, high‑performance electronic packaging films. Calendering is used exclusively for PVC films and sheets; for polyolefin resins with excellent melt flow, it is applied only when the content of inorganic fillers is relatively high.
Heat-seal film Characteristics:
1. Random access to samples allows for reformatting of samples, facilitating sample analysis, secondary hit confirmation, and the creation of sub‑databases within the target set as well as initial screening.
2. Can be used in genomics, forensic science, or other applications.
3. The number of freeze-thaw cycles for the sample can be minimized.
4. Eliminates cross-contamination, dilution effects, and exposure; compared with other methods, it reduces overall costs and time while improving air quality; features a septal perforation for single-use dressing changes or irrigation.
5. A perforated sleeve is provided to further reinforce the sample, allowing a large opening to be created in a single step.
Heat-seal film The following important performance requirements apply.
1. To meet the operational requirements of high-speed automatic bag-making and filling machines, the initial heat-sealing temperature is reduced.
2. Heat-sealable plastic films must exhibit excellent cold‑ and heat‑resistance;
3. A high thermal peel strength, corresponding to a short thermal peel distance, indicates that during heat sealing, the portions subjected to mechanical tensile forces and the portions that are subsequently peeled off remain minimal.
4. Excellent heat-sealability to foreign contaminants, meaning the heat-seal layer maintains strong seal integrity even when contaminated by oil, grease, or dust.
5. To facilitate the accurate dispensing of powdered and viscous liquids, the coefficient of kinetic friction should be maintained within the range of 0.2 to 0.4.
6. Exhibits excellent resistance to bursting in packaging materials.
